Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our tour representative who will assist you throughout your journey. From there, you will be transferred to Colombo, Sri Lanka's vibrant capital city. After checking in at your hotel, embark on an afternoon city tour of Colombo. Explore its bustling markets, historic landmarks such as the National Museum and Independence Square, and modern attractions like the Galle Face Green promenade. Enjoy the diverse architecture, from colonial-era buildings to contemporary skyscrapers, and immerse yourself in shopping for local crafts and souvenirs. Later, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, preparing for more discoveries in Colombo.
After breakfast, we will depart for Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its ancient rock fortress. En route, we will pass through Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO-listed city known for its archaeological ruins such as Lankatilleke, Thuparama, and Gal Vihare temples. We will also visit the remains of the Royal Palace and Parakrama Samudra, an ancient reservoir. Upon arrival in Sigiriya, check in at the hotel where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night, preparing for the climb up the iconic Sigiriya Rock the following day.
After breakfast, our journey begins with a visit to the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient palace atop a towering rock formation. En route to Kandy, we will stop at the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, renowned for its stunning cave paintings and statues depicting Buddha. Continuing our journey, we will explore a Spice Garden in Matale, where you can learn about Sri Lanka's rich spice heritage and enjoy demonstrations of spice cultivation. Upon reaching Kandy, check in at the hotel, followed by an afternoon visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, where Lord Buddha's tooth is housed. In the evening, experience a traditional Kandyan cultural dance performance, showcasing vibrant music and dance forms. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay in Kandy, immersing yourself in the cultural richness of Sri Lanka's hill capital.
After breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, we will journey towards Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as 'Little England' due to its cool climate and colonial architecture. En route, we will enjoy the scenic Upper Lake Drive and visit the renowned Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, showcasing a wide variety of tropical flora. Our next stop will be the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela, where you can observe and learn about rescued elephants. Continuing the journey, we will visit a Tea Plantation, where you can witness the process of tea cultivation and production in the highlands of Sri Lanka. In the late afternoon, explore the picturesque town of Nuwara Eliya, known for its British colonial charm and lush tea estates. Conclude the day with dinner and check-in at the hotel, enjoying an overnight stay amidst the tranquil surroundings of Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast, we will depart for Yala, one of Sri Lanka's premier wildlife destinations renowned for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife. In the afternoon, we will embark on an exhilarating visit to either Yala National Park or Bundala Wildlife Park, where you can encounter a variety of wildlife including elephants, leopards, and numerous bird species. After an adventurous wildlife safari, we will check in at the hotel in Tissamaharama for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the natural beauty and tranquility of the region.
After breakfast, you will explore the historic Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved colonial architecture and charming streets. Stroll along the ramparts overlooking the Indian Ocean, visit the old Dutch Church, explore the quaint shops and cafes within the fort walls, and immerse yourself in the rich history of this coastal gem. After the tour, depending on your travel plans, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight or dropped off at a beach extension hotel of your choice, ensuring a seamless continuation of your journey in Sri Lanka.
