Finally, you will reach Galle, where you will check into your hotel.
At leisure or embark on a Dolphin & Whale Watching boat ride off Mirissa (Dondara), just a 40-minute drive from your hotel. Afterwards, we will visit Galle Fort on foot. A leisurely walk will take us past historical sites such as the old Dutch Church, the Governor’s house, spice warehouses, Court Square, the Kacheri (town hall), the lighthouse, and the sea wall with its ramparts. We'll also visit the mosque and stroll through streets leading to the cricket fields, temple, and the old District Judge’s house surrounded by ancient frangipani trees.
After breakfast, depart for Tangalle, a charming fishing town known for its long, unspoiled beach and as a breeding ground for giant sea turtles. Upon arrival in Tangalle, check into your hotel for a two-night stay. While in Tangalle, you can also visit the Rekawa Turtle Conservation project, located 10 kilometers east of the town. A highlight is visiting the project during a full moon night, when you can witness the influx of turtles under the glowing moonlight, an experience recommended by Amanwella.
In the late afternoon, depart from Tangalle and travel to the entrance of Yala National Park. Yala is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including leopards, elephants, and numerous bird species, making it a popular destination for safari enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Early in the morning, enjoy the sunrise from the hotel lawn. After breakfast, explore Hambantota town or head to the nearby Bundala National Park for a photo safari, known for its diverse birdlife and natural beauty. After completing the safari, drive back to Colombo and check in at your hotel for an overnight stay.
